Administrative Pastor

Pastor Rick & Anita first joined the staff of the First Baptist Church of Canton in May 1974 as the Youth Pastor when the church was known as the Calvary Baptist Church of Wayne. They both graduated from the Arlington Baptist College in 1974, Pastor Rick with a Bachelor of Divinity Degree and Anita with a Bachelor of Sacred Music Degree.

Having served as a Senior Pastor from 1977 to 1987 in South Dakota and Michigan we have rejoined the First Baptist Church pastoral staff after serving several years in business. Pastor Rick and Anita have been married 37 years and have three children, Chad, Jeremy and Chantel along with their spouses Heather, Christi, Matthew and four grandchildren.

Rev. Jeff Cross

Associate Pastor/Music

Hello, I'm Bro. Jeff Cross. I have been on staff at First Baptist Church since August of 2003. I graduated from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, FL in May of 2003. My wife's name is Lori and we have three children: James, Jason, and Joanna. Lori is the Music Librarian. Along with directing the sanctuary choir and leading the congregation in song, I also teach the Stage One class.

Rev. Bud Smith

Associate Pastor/Camp

Bro. Bud Smith and his wife Tammy have been the directors of Bethel Youth Camp since 1991. When he and Tammy first went to the camp it was almost non-existant but God has used them to make Bethel the place that it is today. Tammy Smith attended the Arlington Baptist College for two years. Rev. Bud Smith graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. They have served together in full time ministry for 33 years.

Rosalyn Tomassion

Financial Secretary

Hi, I'm Rosalyn Tomassion. I started working here at the church in 1998 as the Financial Secretary, but have been a member since 1989. I am originally from Brunswick, Ohio (Go Buckeyes!). I went to Arlington Baptist College in Arlington, TX where I met my husband and we graduated in 1987. Tony, who is a public school teacher, and I have been married for 24 years and we have three boys: Scott 20, Eric 19, and David 15. I grew up in a wonderful Christian family and was saved at the age of six. What a privilege it is to me to be a part of this ministry here in Canton.

Kari Sharp

Administrative Assistant

Hi, my name is Kari Sharp. I am the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor. I have been working here at First Baptist Church since 2001. My husband's name is Mike and we were married at First in 1989. We have two great teenage boys: Austin and Travis . I love working here as well as being a member; what a wonderful way to serve the Lord.
